The educational Alnico magnets are made of an aluminium, nickel, and cobalt alloy. This alloy is known to offer powerful magnetic properties when it is electrically charged.Although these magnets are less powerful than neodymium/iron/boron magnets (NdFeB magnet), they are less brittle and can resist higher temperatures up to 450°C.
Poles are coloured: the north pole is red, the south pole is green.
